Dometic or what AC unit?

I guess my bigger question is our boats have 4 units. If I replace with non dometic will I have any issues wiring into the boats pump control relay system from cruisair?
Grant:
I replaced my Master Cabin OEM with a Marinaire. I did have to fish a new TStat wire. These units come with new Tstat, wire and wireless remote. Happy with this unit and like that the fan can be set to cycle with the pump or run full time. Much more quite than the OEM.

No issue with compatibility (of the other two units on that water pump) since everything is self contained except the trigger for the pump.

Likely will replace the other units with Marinaire when the time comes.

Swapped out the 24K CruiseAir in the bridge for a 26K CTM. Very happy with it.
Hey Carter - My friend in his 58 had a non-Dometic replacement HVAC unit installed in the forward berth - the installer can't get the unit to turn on the raw water pump. He said they interfaced with the existing pump relay box but no joy. It appears to me to be either wired wrong or the relay module is bad but he said the installed has gone through everything..... He has resolved to have other HVAC units running before running the forward one - not right.
Any words of wisdom here or is there really issues with aftermarket installations.

chiming in..... I have replaced more than 1 trigger over the years. 5 minute job, 70-100 bucks for the part.

I had no problems with mine - but the bridge unit runs on its own pump. I would think its got to be wiring or the relay. I've heard no one with that problem on here, and a lot of alternate units have been installed.

Thanks - as it ends up it appears the "installer" didn't even look at the relay box. My friend didn't know where the box was located and finally found it behind the solon sofa under the main breaker cabinet and apparently it is most inaccessible requiring the sofa to be removed. Might have been his problem from the beginning.
He is now getting a LO-P5 error on another unit he had just installed. His installer said there are no low side pressure switches on the unit and it can't be a LO-P5. His problem might be the installer....

Definite possibility!!

I swapped out my 16,000 BTU Dometic self-contained unit with the CTM 16 two years ago, and it's been a solid upgrade. The installation was painless for the most part, and the compact design made fitting it into the existing space a breeze. What really stands out is the performance – this thing is a workhorse. I've used it consistently throughout the summer, and it's proven to be reliable and efficient.

The cooling power is impressive, and it maintains a comfortable atmosphere on the boat without breaking a sweat. And in my case, I didn’t have to change my thermostat. I had an Elite-2, and it worked perfectly. If you're looking for a dependable marine air conditioner, CTM marine has my vote.
Which model? I am looking to replace the AC on my 340.
