DTS on mercruiser 8.1HO

Does anyone have the DTS on their boat? The previous owner and I have had issues with it going into various alarm modes where the shift control can become disengaged. It forces you to go down below and reset the whole system.

I received a Recall notice on my DTS last month. Ck with your dealer.

there is a recall notice about the dts system. is this the boat you are having problems with? a 2004 model?

We have the DTS and have had no issues. You would check all the connectors to/from the engines and if this fails to correct then check with dealer/Mercury.

this is the boat that has the DTS and the problem. I seen that there was a notice out on the DTS but from the forum it seemed that it was for later model boats. I will verify this with the dealer. If they are unaware of any issues I will check the connections to/from the DTS. That could definitely be a problem area. But that check/verification will have to wait for spring since it is winterized. Thanks for your help and I will let you know what i find.

I remember when John bought the boat - it was one of the first with DTS. But basically he had to engage into gear within a certain amount of time otherwise he had to reset the system. I would suspect that their is a software update for the DTS that would fix that.

No DTS system issues here, knock on wood. 135 hours into it also.

What did you mean by go down below and reset?
