Why would Russia care about these Sanctions being imposed? Can someone please help me understand how or why that makes a difference?

Biden is in with both Russia and China to destroy us….. or give me another reason

look at DC right now ….. you think they are barricading the capital because of a few trucks

Some of the sanctions under consideration would make financial transactions impossible so Russia would not be able to conduct trade with other nations and businesses. Russia depends on a host of companies for technological support, goods and services to conduct its daily affairs like all of us do. It’s overly simplistic but would be like you going to a store and your credit card is denied. In case you pay with cash, the sanctions are designed to prosecute businesses that sell to you if you pay cash.
Russia is a criminal state run by thugs. It a state that operates like the Mafia, where the leaders steal the citizens’ money for personal gain. Other sanctions would freeze the oligarchs’ personal banking accounts so individuals and their families’ would be personally hurt. All that stolen money and no where to spend it. Can’t travel either. If you want to see how crooked Putin is, Google “Putin’s Palace”, on YouTube. It is a two hour explanation of how he has and continues to plunder the nation’s treasure.

This could turn very ugly if cool heads do not prevail. News reported today that some folks in the administration are saying we should turn the lights off in Moscow so Russia knows we are able to retaliate without using force. Of course they can do the same to us. It is a pity we have such poor leadership in Washington today. I would not want to be President today.

u are correct, JB sanctions was expected. I assume there is alot of sanctions on them already and they are doing fine so why not carry on.

This thing will be over before the sanctions take effect. Longer term, they will put some hurt on Russia but not as much as we think. Germany and Italy balked against pulling Russia from the swift banking system. Clowns to the left and jokers to the right.

Ya Putin knew the sanctions were coming, he figured he better get his boat home before it gets stuck in Germany.

Someone also please explain the Keystone pipeline to me. Did it ever actually have oil flowing, or is it still in production. Answers depend on which news show I watch...

Was in under construction before Biden signed an executive order to halt construction on his first day in office. The pipeline would have transported Canadian crude to our refineries in the South for sale in the US. Would have increased our output of refined products. The alternative way to getting crude to refineries is by rail. Warren Buffet, big Democrat, owns the rails and his companies would have lost revenue with the pipeline in place. Increasing production of refined products would lower the price of oil so this would have helped us do that and benefited Canada companies as well. It was a bonehead move driven by progressive ideology. Trump was able to cut through the red tape that was holding up construction prior to his election. Environmental lawsuits had bogged the project down in certain areas of the country while the project was worked on in other areas of the US.
