I have a dometic vacuflush 147 toilet where the pedal and ball seal got decoupled from each other after someone was too rough with it.
No worries, I watched some youtube videos, ordered a bunch of parts, and went to work. 4 session and 5 hours later, having changed the shaft, ball valve, spring cartridge multiple times etc, it just wouldnt work arrrgh!!
A lot of the problem is the damn mechanical assembly with the spring cartridge, movement cam and shaft. They only work if you get the tension EXACTLY RIGHT, and the black ones (i.e. the ones compatible with my toilet, dont get me started about how the white ones have an incompatible cam and are the same part number) are also prone to breaking if you overtension. Not to mention working in the tiny space between the wall and the assembly sucks.
Anyway, I decided, screw it. This is a simple problem, we have a square shaft that needs to turn.
sounds like an easy problem to fix with a lil code & a 3d printer.
And guess what, it works no worries! okay slightly more complicated to operate, but I'll take it.
