Engine alarm

After I change my Stern drive oil gear oil water separator all that I let the boat warm up and think I might accidentally revved it over 3 g when it was warmed up is that a reason for the alarm to go off anyone have any ideas why it would set an alarm for time it's ever done that thank you

Usually alarm is low engine oil pressure, low drive oil reservoir ( possible you just changed it) , or over temp, which can happen if on muffs and muffs block water intake holes in drive.

If the alarm is an intermittent alarm it is the od oil level. It is common for the o/d reservoir to have gum in the bottom which causes the alarm.
If you have the original Mercruiser manual it lists the causes and types of alarms.
