Engine hatch struggles to open

340 Sea Ray 2003

The engine hatch opens rough. It makes noise while opening and skips/jerks as well. Prior to this issue it opened smooth with little noise.
Is this a lift bar issue? Can they be lubed /greased? If yes, how?

There should be grease zerks down by the motor/gears. I would try that.

Yes, there are zeros... Is there a certain type of grease to be used?

I used the new Merc Extreme grease in mine. Maybe 5 pumps and it quieted right down.
