Hi all, just bought a 2023 SeaRay 260 SLX with a Mercury Verado 300 outboard. Boat was delivered beginning of may and have put just over 20 hrs. Before last weekend I noticed black soot on the housing. I filled up once with gas from the marina (ethanol free). Is this a concern? Again, new to boat ownership so be gentle. Pictures attached.

+1 for @JHornsby3, take her back to the Dealer…..first of all you shouldn’t have to start wrenching on an engine under warranty, and just as importantly, if it’s more than fuel mixture (loose clamps or parts, etc.), they need to repair that, also!

Welcome to the cult, you’ll find soooo much experience here and invaluable suggestions to help you and save time and frustration!
