Trying to get a line on how often it should be done for a docked boat and what it should cost. Anybody know?

Boat is docked on water that is mostly fresh in florida. But we use it in salt as well as fresh.

Yikes, think I got burned. We just got charged $200 which he said he would reduce to $180 per month. And that's for a 25 foot Sun Dancer!Think I'll cancel the contract.

could be different where you are. i asked aorund at the marina for who everyone was using. maybe it was cheaper for me since the same guy had a bunch of the boats on my dock.

Ouch!! I have a 30 Sundancer in South Florida and pay $1.50 a ft. plus the cost of the zincs for a monthly cleaning. The diver works all of So. Fl. so if you want his name and number let me know.

Don,
Yes, please give me the number. These guys are killing me :smt021

I do know that to circumcise a whale, you have to send down FOURskindivers.

Here off Galveston Bay the going rate for regularly scheduled quarterly cleaning is $2.50/ft. Anodes are cost of anode plus $10 installation charge. If your bottom paint is sound, then quarterly cleaning is sufficient here. A good diver who knows what he is doing can extend the useful life of your anti-fouling paint. One who doesn't and is just scrubbing to clean it easily and quickly can shorten the useful life.

Also, so you don't get the FINE for not complying with EPA regs make sure he/she understands this.

I have my boat docked in Hollywood Fl(between FLL and MIA) and the couple that does the bottom charges $1.40 p/foot and to wash my 280 DA they charge $40. They do a great job,and best of all I dont have to hear the Mrs barking about how the boat looked like crap 'cause I did not have the time to wash it

Sorry,
For now I was told by our MM sales person that having the bottom scraped once a month would suffice but in the sumer time every 2 weeks is needed because where I have her docked is known for the barnacles and stuff sticking to the bottom etc etc

Thanks for all the input and (Don) for the phone # for the diver. If it wasn't for all of you, I'd be paying 200 a month for bottom cleaning.
