Fireworks in Hartford on CT River

Has anyone gone to or planning on going to Riverfest in Hartford this weekend to see the fireworks?
We've never gone but thinking about going on Saturday. Is it complete amateur hour? Should I stay far away from that part of the river?
If we go I was thinking about spending the night on the hook. Wife is not thrilled about running at night and suspect there will be a lot of crazy's trying to leave at the same time.

I have done it in the past. Just waited til most boats left and then dropped anchor or grabbed a mooring ball in Wethersfield Cove. Just a short ride.

Thanks, I forgot how close the cove was, however, my marina is just passed the R.H. Ferry so about another 10mins and we'd be home.
