First trip on the Columbia

Don't have the tub here yet, so I took the jet boat on the Columbia and did some fishing on the Lewis River. First lesson: Those tug boats put out one hell of a wake. Stalled my outboard and damn near flipped us.

What a great day, warm and sunny. No fish, but had a great time.

BTW there are also so very big boats on this river....

Welcome to your new home. Yes the tugs put out a big wake, however some of the freighters and Car haulers put out even more below St Helens (they travel faster in the lower river). Many miles of Columbia river for you to explore and if you get board you have an Ocean just a few miles down stream when you get your big boat here.

You mentioned lots of rain, in the past 20 days, look at the forcast now her comes the sun 78 by the end of the week.

We took a trip up to Olympia National Park on Sunday and when I get the Tub finished we were thinking of a marina in Olympia so we can cruise the sound, then to Alaska in a few years.

The admiral suggested sticking it in a marina on the river while I work out the bugs. We notice Kalama had a nice harbor.

Beautiful, i just love boating the river.... Granted we are on the Missouri here in Omaha, but it is just an awesome new adventure every time out.

I really prefer it over the lake now a days.

We're loving being on the Columbia. We'll be venturing to Cathlamet soon.
