So I am having my first upgrades done to the boat this week.

- 20" Flip Down LCD mounted to the radar arch
- Upgrading cabin TV from a 13" LCD to a 26" LCD
- DirectTV HD installed
- 2 Clarion speakers mounted on the back of the transom
- Clarion remote added onto the swim platform
- Speakers wired to run sound from TV or from Stereo

Everything should be done by the middle of the week, and I will try and post pictures ASAP. Looking forward to trying it all out this weekend!

The install is being done by a guy on our dock who owns a audio / video car and home installation company. He has done a few other boats on the dock, and does a really great job.

I agree with you about using the lake as a get away from TV, although I keep the boat on the dock year round, and have a patio table and chairs set up for us to sit out on when we are there. With these upgrades we will be able to go up in the Fall and enjoy sitting out and watching the game. Plus it will be nice to watch a movie from the water in the evening as we are anchored in a cove.

I just got word that all of the updates are finished. Unfortunately I wont be able to make it up tonight, but am planning to head up tomorrow to take a look. I will snap some pictures and post them when I get back home.

I went up yesterday afternoon to check on progress, and everything but the flip down on the arch was done. The large TV in the cabin looked GREAT, and the new speakers on the transom sounded really good. I could actually hear music while sitting on the dock without having to blast music.

Now I am really excited and even more ready for this weekend!

Same here. Looking forward to seeing these transom speakers. I'm having a hard time coming to grips with disturbing the stock look with upgrades like this.

I swapped my salon TV out as well and put a 19 inch but its no bigger in dimension than the original 15inch. Curious to see how a 26 inch fits in that spot.

Th directv HD install worked out great for me.

Want to add the transom remote too so can't wait to see that. I wonder if your installer took pics along the way??

Cincy Aquaholic - yeah the transom speakers were the only upgrades that required drilling and won't be able to be returned back to stock on down the road. All other upgrades used either existing hardware / holes already in the boat.

The only thing I am not 100% sure about is the speakers. Clarion now has all their new marine speakers with a black grill, where i think that white may look more "factory" on the transom. End of the day, this is a simple fix as the grill can always be taken off and painted, but that is the only thing I am a little unsure about. Otherwise... I they sound GREAT!

The 26" fits fine, the original 15" was 22" wide already (because of the speakers being on the side) and the 26" was only 25" wide (since they measure the screen diagonal). I am still able to fully rotate the screen without hitting anything.

The installer did take pics along the way. He said he would post them to his site in the next few weeks, so I will let you know once they are up.

Was up at the lake all weekend, so just getting a chance to upload all of these. Everything works great, and I am very happy. Took her out on Sat and stayed out in a cove, as the sun went down I hooked up the iPod we floated and watched a movie. I am still not 100% sure if I am going to paint the back speaker covers white, or keep them black. Anyway, here are the pics :)

The upgrades look great! I have been asking about having a flip down installed on my arch and the local installers are hesitant to do it because they are concerned with the vibrations and bouncing will shake the screws loose and the tv could fall. Do you know how many screws your installer used to mount the tv and if he did anything special to make sure it maintained underway? Thanks!

I bet a dab of 5200 or 4200 would prevent the screws from working their way out. Then just check them frequently.

What exactly is the flip-down tv? I've never seen one rated for marine use- is that an automotive model?
You say you added HD DirecTV- does that mean a dish on the dock, or a marine in-motion system?

You're lucky....there seems to be no one available in my area to perform meticulous type electrical work. There's lots of things I'd like to have done as well. :(
