Flag pole

That's gonna be a beast of a flag on a 210! I like your patriotism (assuming it's the US flag you'll fly) but you'll need to anchor that bad boy a little better than most. Perhaps a rod holder flush mounted into a gunwale.

I'd personally skip the surface mount style for a flag that big. I don't think they'll survive...

Give me some ideas on how to mount a 3x5 flag on my boat, 210 sundeck

As was mentioned, that would be a pretty large flag for a 21' boat, although maybe you're thinking of an extra large one to fly around Independence Day? I sometimes fly an extra large flag for the 4th too, mounted in a rod holder. Perko and Taylor Made have flush mounts that have angled sleeves under the deck that look fairly hefty, compared to the ones that clamp onto a rail. I haven't reached the Burger King sized flag yet... not sure my rod holders would even be up to that task :)

Typically, the ensign is around 1" for every 1' of boat length. So for my boat, 36' LOA, I would use a 24" x 36" flag. For a 21' boat, the suggested standard sizes would be either 12x18 or 16x24. The staff you mount it on should be 2x the vertical dimension of the flag, so a 12x18 flag would have a 2 foot staff, a 24x36 would have a 4 foot staff.

Here are a couple places with info:
