I met an older couple at the pool, in Marco Island, that were Yugoslavian granted political asylum in the US. He had been a doctor at home but couldn’t transfer that so they opened a restaurant and worked their asses off to make it successful.
The wife and small kids got out first but it took a year or two for the husband to get out. They see clearly what is going in this country and fear it. Their children on the other hand have been indoctrinated like most American kids and they almost cried over that.
