Freighter runs aground near downtown Detroit

A 623-foot freighter called the Barbro G carrying 21,000 tons of wheat to Italy became stuck near the William G. Milliken State Park

One was stuck in the St Clair River for a few days last month. Now one aground right near the RenCen in the Detroit River.

They got it pushed back into the channel this afternoon. Used 3 big tugs.

So this thing was in an anchorage with a full crew standing watch and the anchor dragged for a mile before it got stuck? How is that even possible with station keeping? Even your Iphone would tell you that you are moving.

It would seem whoever was standing watch ......is an idiot. I can appreciate their bow thrusters didn't work but their engine did.

I know what you're saying. The current is ripping pretty good along Belle Isle but still....
