I started to have a problem with my fresh water system. When you use any faucet the water pressure pulsates. It makes it almost impossible to take a shower! Do I just need to replace the pump? Thanks!!!!!

The issue is probably the expansion tank. These should not loose pressure, but they do at times, due to weak pressue valve. Try pumping it up and then use soapy water on the valve stem (Like a tire stem valve) if it leaks you can try a new valve insert. The tank will have a defined pressure required for operation. It should be written on the tank. Trust me a Breath of Air makes huge difference in the internal pressure so take it real easy, use and hand pump and a simple tire gauge.

Getting to the rascal maybe the challenge.

I do not specifically but when all else fails look behind the galley sink, fridge or the companionway stairs. this rascal is about the size of 1 lb loaf or bread mounted vertically on a T Joint

Jason,

I don't believe the '98 370Da has an accumulator, but if it does, look downstream from the pump before the first faucet. They are usually placed near the outboard side of the main bulkhead just before the waterline T's and heads thru the bulkhead.

The accumulator will get flat over several winter's temp changes. I recharge mine every spring. That does sound like your problem, if you have one. If you don't, try cleaning the filter sscreen on the inlet side of the pump.......if that isn't it, you can try cleaning the diaphram chamber of the pump, but most likely, based on the prior use your pump has had, you are going pump shopping.
