I just bought a 1998 SD 290 and the prior owner did not recall emptying the fresh water tank, soooo, it's something I want to do.
How is this done and I have already bought the Camco fresh water treatment to periodically use.
Thank you!

Wow - that is a very complete process, thank you!
I would like to know whether there is a way to empty the fresh water tank. Is there a pump in the system to remove the tank water?

Just open your faucets. The fresh water pump for the water system will empty the tank. There’s not a separate pump solely to
drain the tank. You likely have a 30+ gallon tank so it will take a while.

If you have a hot water heater, there will be a drain at the bottom of the Hot Water Tank. Leaving the Hot Water Heater breaker OFF, connect a hose to that drain and open it with the fresh water pump breaker on. That will flush the hot and cold water tanks.

What’s the advantage of this vs just opening the taps? Draining via opening the tank Might be faster but requires going into the bilge a futzing with hoses. Access might be difficult depending on the layout. You’d want to flush out the other lines anyway.

It was significantly faster via that fitting.

And you flush the hot water tank simultaneously too
