Freshwater tank sanitizing

The amount of bleach needed to sanitize the RV tank is about one cup of bleach for every 40 gallons. You must be careful to follow the measurements while using bleach in an RV water tank to ensure that it will function properly. For optimum results, it is advised that you use chlorine bleach or a bleach-only solution. It might not be as effective to use bleach solution mixed with other chemicals as it would be.

we use the RV filter for filling the tank AND for direct fill when tied up at a travelling dock (along with a pressure regulator ang gauge.

Theres an in line filter for the ice maker, and a bad-ass under sink filter at the galley.

We believe we're safe in consuming the galley water and ice.

When I first got the boat I found the pump strainers full of mineral debris and the big ass GE galley filter would see reduced flow in 4 months.

The practice of using the RV filter at fill up has virtually eliminated these issues over time.

BEST !

We never connect to the marina water, that way we keep using the tank water and it's in the tank for just a few days. A cup of bleach in the tank once a month here.

RWS & Mario... you got snookered into a 3-year old post by what seems like a spammer. His other post has a weird link in it. :D
