Let’s go one step at a time.

No green light. Even if then compressor was shot the green light would still come on if it has power.

Are you sure you have the switch on in the panel? Are other DC electrical things working?

After you confirm you have good batteries and all the switches are correct, main on, DC switch for the unit on the next thing I would do is pull the unit via removing the 4 mounting screws and with a multi-meter confirm the unit is getting power.

I had this problem in my last boat, try moving the switch slowly from off to on. That worked for a while.Ultimately I replaced the switch.

Will try that everthing elses seems to be working find, the green light on the helm lights up for refrigerator if pressed, everthing else ok, this weather i need a fridge working.

Sorry to Hi-jack your thread, but my fridge is also not working. I get the green light, but nothing else. I'm curious to see what your problem turns out to be. Please keep us posted.

In the case of my Norcold w/ the same symptom - green power light but the compressor not running - it was a $400 voltage controller. I think it converts 12V DC to 12V DC. That's a joke but the $400 invoice surely was not.

Mine didnt switch to dc this weekend when we were out either.I am going to check the wiring for power ,should it have 12vdc all the time?Am hoping it is just a bad breaker in the bilge ,i have the push button type dc breaker box and its one of those things i planned to replace this winter during layup.

I just replaced my norcold de 0051 with a norcold de 0751. I found the 0751 at West Marine, did a search a got an online coupon for 10% off, and had it shipped to the store for a total of 650 including tax. They were almost the exact same size and fit in my opening, but the door is a little larger, by an 1/8 of an inch. This caused a problem when trying to put the decorative wood trim back on. Still don't have that figured out. After reading the other posts about 400 for a voltage regulator, and it seemed as though my problems resembled a compressor issue, and the fridge was original (8 yrs old), so I spent the extra $250 for a new one with warranty.

As far as the electrical connections go, I took the D/C wires and hooked up my multimeter. With the downstairs breaker off, I wasn't getting any readings. With the breaker on I was getting 12 volts. There is also an A/C plug on my boat, I had the outlets breaker turner on and plugged the vacuum in to make sure it was working and able to hold a good amp draw. Now on the top of my fridge there is a 10AMP fuse. My fuse was good and my green light was on, just no compressor kicking on. The norcold website says to check that fuse first if you are not getting a green light.

I hope your fix is as easy as a fuse. If the fuse is good, hook up a $15 mulitmeter and check the volts. If those are good, it would seem as those the problem is in the electric components of the fridge, and norcold says take it to a repair center. Good luck.
