Fuel costs...what's yours?

We just filled up last week @ $4.20 gallon, came in just under $600. So far this year we have probably only put about $1,000 worth of gas in as we've been laid up quite awhile with repairs.....about $15,000 worth:smt089!

I stopped keeping track a few weeks ago, got lazy with Boater Suite. Anyhow, I'm at about $2000.00 in fuel.

I am on fumes now... I just checked active captain, and my fueling place has mid-grade valve tech for $3.79 a gallon... I stopped tracking fuel costs many season ago... As my friend Alex F, told me a "good summer is measured by how many gallons you burn, not by money saved"... I know we have gone through 6 1.75 l bottles of Cuvero Golden, a large bottle of XO petron, and two bottles of Rum...

I love buying gas. The more I buy the more I realize I am getting a return on my investment from the boat purchase and it also means i'm not broke down.

About $2000 so far this year. Happy happy happy.

I’m guessing, but I have probably spent about $1200-1400 ($3.99 non ethenol) in fuel. On a side note, I’m always amused when my friends come out for the day or weekend and say “I’ll buy the gas”, they have no idea! Not a criticism, just funny. They are my guests, and I’ll buy the gas, and I will never stop at fuel dock unless I absolutely have to. Now, if they would bring the drinks and munchies...... I’m happy!!

I've burnt roughly 1300 gallons of fuel this season, so say $5500 as an approximate. No chance I'm going to add up all the food, booze and transient slips associated with boating....The family is enjoying, good for me at any price!!

Ouch. What are you having done?

Suppose I should have said repairs and renewals really:) Bottom paint, boot stripe, bilge painted, manifolds & risers, new pumps and impellars, all new pulleys, alternator, new flush system, all new hoses and clamps, generator overhaul and fix. Seat recover, plus some minor other stuff. Going to have a bow thruster installed next week too, so an expensive year:)

Just finished trip from Saugatuck MI to Mackinaw Island and back. Used just under $3000.00 in gas. (could have went to Disney World instead, NOT !!!! )

We've been thinking of having our boat hauled in and splashed at Mackinac city, and spending a good couple / 3 weeks boating around the area and Mackinaw Island. We've been there once, but never boated there...did you get a slip up there at the dock? Who'd you deal with and what was your overall experience?

25 hours of running so far this year and just spent $224.00 CDN at the fuel dock last weekend. We use our boat like a displacement cruiser, +/- 1050 RPM wherever we go and do a lot of anchoring and swimming. Half the fun is the ride there. A lot of the time we just hang out on the boat at the slip. Since we made the move to "P" dock we're probably close to half a mile from the main gate so there's not a lot of traffic out there.
+1 one for the hull speed cruising, we have been out fewer times this season than last (7) so far, and have burned about $500.00 worth. I usually fuel up at a land based station before launch $3.45 average, and towing the dingy we go slower and save on fuel

A lot of that down here as well. The trailerables are out in droves..... The slips are pretty much full 24/7.

Just over $3,900 so far this season. I expect we'll spend another $1,800 to $2,100 this year.

We've done approximately 30 hours this season. Like Chris we're slow cruisers, 1200ish for us, anchor a lot and go swimming. We've done a few longer cruises with family and are now at $1,900 after topping the tanks this past weekend.

ps...that's at $183.9 a litre

We stayed at St Ignace marina (Mac Island was full) took ferry over to island and spent the day (very busy / guys sat in the bar while the gals shopped. Would recommend Charlevoix (you could easily spend some time down there)

This year has been light so far, we've burned just over 1,000 gallons, so I'm guessing around $4,300. We'll probably burn another 200 gallons through October for a total fuel bill of just over $5,000. Not bad compared to last years fuel bill of $17,875, but of course, much fewer hours with local cruising. As an aside, the reason I never complain about my fuel bill is because it's rarely my largest boating expense. I'm well over $6000 for transient dockage already this year. Last weeks transient dockage alone at the Montauk Yacht Club was $2,900. Add in $2-300 dinner bills every night and a large number of $17 Vodka tonics and Martinis by the pool and fuel bills quickly fade into the background.

This thread should have been called "How big is your carbon footprint" and am I doing my share to kill this planet?

$0 unless you count the gas running for parts. The final repair bill should make up for the lack of gas burned...
