Hi All, I have a 2007 320 sundancer with 2 mercruiser 350 mag mpi engines. Are the fuel filters in what i believe is called the fuel cooling module the only fuel filters on each engine? Are these also what are called water separating fuel filters or is that a different type and place? The reason I ask is I took this new to me boat to a mechanic and they finally sent me the invoice a few months later and it said they changed the fuel water separator filter on the port engine but it says the starboard engine doesn't have one which I find odd since they seem to be identical in every way. If you could help my understanding of this I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

Yes the filters in the cool fuel module are the only filters installed on the engine itself. Your boat may have an additional water seperating filter external to the engine. Just follow the fuel line from that fuel module on the engine to whereever it comes from.

The filters for these are 2-3x the cost of normal fuel filters. I plan to change them every few years.

Do you have a generator? Perhaps the fuel seperator was for the generator?
