I've got an older Sundancer 260 that i would like to install a fuel flow meter in this season. She's powered by single Mercruiser 5.7L EFI.

I don't want to spend a fortune (Floscan!)

From some research it looks like the options are:
- Floscan 5500
- Lowrance LMF-200
- Northstar F210

I have an older Garmin Chartplotter that is not compatible with buying the add-on sensor so i have to go gauge mounted in my cluster.

Anyone with any experience they can share or recommendations?

Thanks!

did you ever get an answer to your question. I have a 2000 340 w/310's and a Garmin 4210 chartplotter. I am also looking for a good (least expensive) solution.

With some research and reading it looks like the best option thats least expensive and best multi gauge is the Lowrance LMF-200. It connects with NMEA 2000 to GPS to give fuel MPG and remaining miles you have on a tank based on average fuel consumption. Looks good and haven't bought yet. Seems anywhere that have it in stock (like West Marine) are selling a little under $200 plus the fuel flow EP sensor at $80

Thats the one i plan on ordering and installing this summer...

I installed the Lowrance units on my 330 Sundancer two years ago for a total of $180 which included everything needed, sensors, backbone, power and display. It pays to search the net before you buy. The units work great although they are not that user friendly in the setup menus.

I had a pair of flowscans - worked perfectly - will never get them again.

It was just too darn depressing watching how many gallons it took to have fun. I'd rather live in denial right up to the point of refuelling!
