Hi CSR friends,
I have just changed my Laguna 21WA with a well-maintaned Laguna 23 cuddy cabin. The baoat is really in good shape, but before lunching her again I am making an extensive check.
I noticed that the Lagna 23 has a pretty large tank (I estimate ca. 200 gallons) which cannot be inspected easily (unless half of the boat is disassembled). It is an aluminiun tank that follows the hull line aft of the boat. I guess this alu tank was originally grey painted, but now it looks like peeled, at least the top side which I can inspect (sides and bottom are not inspectable). Because of the risk associated with gas tank leaks, I have a few questions :smt100:
- is anibody aware of problems (leaks) with these alu tanks?
- is it adviceable to paint the top, which is the only accessible side (I remember it was grey-painted in my previous Laguna 21)
- should the black rubber inlet hose be replaced after > 10 years?
- should I add some water dispersant to avoid that condensed water will damage the bottom of the tank from inside (which I cannot inspect)?

WHATEVER RECOMMENDATION FOR ALU TANK MAINTANANCE WOULD BE WELCOME!
Thank you all for the advice,
Paolo
(Apologiese for my poor English, but I am posting from Italy)
