Is there a trick to getting this to work?

I have what SR refers to as a "gaming port" that goes with the main cabin TV and DVD player. Its located on the cabinet with the sink and is simply another set of RCA inputs for video, and Left and Right audio. (There's a set on the DVD player as well).

I plugged the PS2 into it and only got video but could hear a very faint audio at full blast on the TV. Plugging it directly into the DVD front panel worked as expected.

Thoughts?

on some boats audio is routed to stereo (aux input)

Ahh, I hadn't thought of that as I had the Sirius on. I'll give that a shot when I back at the boat. Thanks!

Re: Gaming port - No sound, Aux input with IPOD no sound

:smt100

I am having the same issue. I don't have any sound coming out of either TV when I plug in an Xbox to the game port. I also plugged in an IPOD to the Auxiliary input jack located on the side of the cabinet next to my Clarion radio and didn't get anything from the stereo when I switched to Aux.

I took the Game Port apart to see if any of the connections fell off and everything seemed fine.

If I understand what I am reading, the game port is tied into the stereo as an auxiliary input and the jack on the side of the cabinet is totally useless? This doesn't make any sense to me. I don't want sit on the back of the boat listening to my kids play X-Box and I would like to be able to connect an IPOD to the stereo using the existing jack on the cabinet.

Is there a way to push the sound from game port directly to the TV's and hook up the auxiliary input plug to the stereo so that I can connect an IPOD? I don't care if the DVD player can't push sound through the stereo. The TV sound is good enough.

This is a dumb set up.

yes put the dvd player into aux mode by pressing on the dvd remote, make sure tv on video input and you will be all set, picture and sound will come from game port

Ok..So I need to turn on the KEC DVD player and there is someway to put it into Aux mode and it will take in the Game Port sound and send it to the TV's?

I'll try it.. But that is one crazy set-up.

Thanks for the advice.

If that works, that just leaves the IPOD connection.

So, THAT'S how it works. It doesn't play through the speakers then. That seems to make sense. Good to know. Thanks.
