After 3 months of research and a helpful retailer, BOE Marine, I was able to find a permanent, exceptional color screen unit with internal antenna to install on my rather modest 23' cuddy.
I installed the bracket into the vinyl with screws and used nuts from below. The installation is very secure and I am able to tilt my unit in any direction.
I hardwired to the buss and fusebox in the cabin. The unit easily removes for storage and theft prevention.
The 172C is prefect size for someone with a small boat and works well in the sun.
