I have a Quicksilver 6.5kw with 4cyl nissan engine. Governed to 1860 RPM when not loaded probably a bit less loaded. Would you say a gallon per hour loaded? Just curious.

Can you somehow route or 'T' the genny's fuel supply through your flow scans? Surely there's some parts in Home Depot to git er done!!!!! :)

I think we need pics of it in the ER to tell for certain.

Photoshop moment.....:)

Ron...Probably something less then 1 and more then .5 GPH....just a guess.

You planning a cool mod....maybe plug in an oscilatting fan and hang it off the swimplatform to try to conserve fuel....or as a stern thruster....????

He needs the genny to run his dorm room style fridge he got from Walmart for $59.

How much current can a snoopy dorm fridge draw?

You wise-arses had all better watch your boats in AC! And for the record, I do not have a dorm fridge - it was merely an idea for someone who may be sweating spending another boat dollar or two for a "marine" fridge.

And don't you people realize the hazards of flash photography in a gas boat's bilge?? Just another way to blow yourself up. I'm wondering if there's a "marine" camera and, for that matter, "marine" cell phones that I could spend 8x more for, b/c heaven forbid you are down there checking your drive lube and your smart phone that you forgot to remove from the holster on your belt, rings.

Dom,thanks for the response! Tapping into the floscans isn't that important. Just curious about how much more depleted the stbd tank would be.;-)

Those diesel guys don't have ignition proof cameras. They probably have Snoopy Cameras.

On a side note - my Kohler 5ecd burns about .5 to .6 gph depending on the load.

1860? That's 62hz. Off standard, but not that far off. Of course, that just means that on Ron's boat, time passes more quickly when the generator is running.

We have 8KW Quicksilver with 1 liter engine. Drawing total 40 to 50 AMPs it burns an average of 3 litersper hour.

FrankC, in an environment here at CSR of RTFM, I try to speak only after I have read the f'k'n manual. And here's what the manual says. Now, if Mercury Marine still made Quicksilver generators, I'd suggest you give them a call and tell them that they are wrong. But since they don't, I guess we'll just have to assume that's why they stopped making these generators - b/c they are one big mass of incompetants!

Anyone have an oscilloscope I can borrow?

BTW, I think that oil pressure reading they post here is wrong. Should be closer to 40psi.

Ron doesn't have a marine VHF either... he picked up one of these at a truck stop in Joesey:

$19.95

He's still trying to figure out how to put his MMSI number in it and hook it to his Garmin Tom Tom.

Not even. I still use the "wireless" like on the Titanic.
