Good day all. Here’s a question. 2005 350 Horizon Mercs, V drives. Fuel rails and injectors have been replaced due to a service bulletin, that I'm aware of. Not sure about the pumps. Relay for fuel pump burnt a connection (pin 85). Replaced and started the motors. Did an amp test on the red wire coming from the fuel pump. One was 13 amps the other motor was 10ish. What is the normal amp draw and if this is high what could be causing it. Thanks for any help.

Probably high resistance from the pump. The CF3 paint issue was the reason for the service bulletin. Did it get replaced as well ?

the last one I tested was under 5 amps and if using the cube relays get one for a Blazer .The rating is 40 Amp

scoflaw, from what I was told, Merc only replaced what was needed. The pump housing and pumps were not replaced, they are original. I just checked with a certified Merc service rep and he confirmed the replacement of only what was needed. His recommendation was don't skimp and replace the complete module. Reasoning was that if I just due the pumps in a few years I'll be back where I'm at now. There's more than most likely corrosion and water flow restriction within the housing itself which lead to the over heating of the pumps which interned caused them to begin to fail.
