Has anyone pulled their box apart and tried to replace the Sound Deadening Materials?

If so what materials did you replace it with? I am planning this soon as it is leaving the old sound materials all over inside the generator box and motor.

The material is likely a mylar faced acoustical foam with mass loaded vinyl sandwiched in it. For this product, the thicker the material, the more sound is eliminated. Measure what is in there now and replace with that thickness or better.

West marine has small quantities available in 3/4" and 1" with pre applied adhesive on the back. If you need thicker, there are online sources.

I used Soundown, purchased the material and adhesive directly from the manufacturer in Salem, MA. Great stuff.

Which sound deadening material did you go with for your generator?
