GENERATOR ONAN 7KW SEA RAY 44/455

Hello friends,

Can you tell me how to change lower plinth and girders on ONAN. Can we change it without getting out all generator because its pretty complicated ( in boat are motors cummins 8,3 QSC). If somebody had done that I would be so thankfull for any information or picture. The lower plinth is in very bad condition because of rust so I want to change it.

"Plinth" and "girder" are not terms we usually see here, - I'm not quite sure what part you're having trouble with.

That seems highly unlikely. Unless you can find a way to levitate the generator whilst replacing the base in-situ.

If you're talking about the areas circled in the red, I would have to agree. It looks like those mounting blocks (red circles) are likely welded onto the base pan. With that, plus the way the system is mounted to them (blue circles) it would seem very difficult to impossible to remove the base with the generator in the boat. The generator unit would need to be lifted up pretty high to be able to remove the base. I don't know how you get access to the mountings bolts (no. 5 and 3) if the space is tight.

Hvala na pomoći,nisam niti ja potpuno siguran da ću uspjeti,čekat ću ako se još neko javi sa tim pokušajem.
tebalo bi napraviti neki nosač sa vijkom za podizanje,ili napraviti otvor od 12 mm za vijak na prolazu u brod,točno iznad kopče za dizanje agregata,i poslije ga ukrasnim inox čepom zatvoriti.Ovo su samo moje pretpostavke pokušaja podignuti generator, kako bi se mogla metnuti baza sa nosačima.Srdačno Vas pozdravljam i još jednom hvala na pomoći.
