After reading of others success when installing a digital TV converter box, I thought I would give it a try. As suggested in previous posts, I used the Artec T3AP-LS which made a very easy install. By the way, with a $40 coupon, this model is "free".. no shipping, nothing other than the coupon number from freeTVsignal.com. I never had any luck with the Glomex antenna in the past, but now I have a very good picture on several channels.
During the install, I did discover a blown fuse in an in-line fuse holder hidden behind the Glomex amplifier. Who knows how long it's been zapped, but that might have been the problem back during the analog TV days. I currently have the antenna wired directly to the converter box without the amp in the circuit. Does anyone know if the amp actually works or does any good in the new digital world?
