So another post got me a little off track. So thought I post this.
Last Saturday my girlfriend and I got dressed up packed a little wine and snacks and got out of the house and went on a date.
It was a car date and it was what was needed!
It felt good to get dressed up and out of house.
We went to the place we first met and relived the last nine years.
My point is.

There are many things we can do to get out and feel normal again and be responsible while doing it.
Well not to Responsible or it wouldn’t of been a date! :)

Just food for thought for those of you wanting a little norm back in your life.

My sister and her family did something very similar, got out the best china, made name cards for each place setting, everyone dressed to the nines. Had a cocktail hour first and then rib eyes from the grill. We will give it a go this weekend. Great suggestion!

We have come up with a few things like that to get out of the house. This past Tuesday we had a picnic in the park with two of our kids and two grandsons.

We bought KFC (WOW, was that ever expensive--$56 for two 8 piece buckets and two sides for each) and met them in the park. We had a table large enough for the four of them and we brought folding chairs so we could social distance.

After dinner the boys took off for the playground and the four adults got a nice chance to catch up on what's new.

T'was a nice diversion from sitting around staring at the four walls.

My girls did this for us about a month ago. My youngest who is our cook made homemade pasta, homemade meatballs and sauce and served us a romantic dinner in the dinning room without them. It was a nice night for my wife and I and the bill was only $1mil plus tip.

This is cool. We are gonna modify it as a family night Friday night out on the hook. No cell phones, just dinner and a movie. Kids are gathering a couple board games too. We've never stayed on the hook as a family. Wife is pretty excited about it.

Once I met a cute young gurl and I asked her for a date. I took her out on my boat and even got a kiss at the end. We went on another and another and had a wonderful time each time we went out.

That was 49 years ago and we still go out on dates in the boat. Virus or not, there has been no change. Our river is a mile wide so we social distance all the time.

Now our 2 sons have boats bigger than ours. No rafting this year. They are on their own!

My daughter sent us this message yesterday morning, our anniversary:
Good morning and happy anniversary Todd and Stella!
Thank you for your reservation at La Best Thai Bistro! Your server for the night (Ms. Georgia) will be taking your order, picking up your food, and plating it for you. Your choice of drink will be served as well. Your outside patio table will be ready with appetizers for you at 7:30 pm. Dinner will be followed by a dessert of your choice and a movie or show. Don’t be late! Please respond at your leisure with your order and choice of dessert. (Dessert can be from Best Thai or grocery store, i.e. key lime pie, Thai donuts, etc.) Thank you!

We watched The Gentlemen, great movie, highly recommend it. She decorated the patio and had a great “dinner out” for our anniversary.
