About six months into a 2004 280da. I appear to have a GPS antenna on arch and the wire runs to a small white box that says raymarine under the helm. Two wires exit, having trouble following them but I think one then goes into the nema port on my c70 (yes old). Is there a reason I am not getting GPS? Does this box convert and add power?

I'm in a similar situation but just haven't had the time to resolve it yet.

I have an e7 MFD and a Raymarine dome. The e7 has internal GPS and it's not picking up any signal from the GPS mounted to the arch. I haven't confirmed whether or not it's properly wired into the MFD.

There is also a white box under my helm. Does yours have a cover you can remove like this? If so you can get a better sense of wires/colors and trace those back to their origins:

The bulb on the arch is the whole GPS, its not an antenna. The white box is a junction box. There is the possibility of a bad connection, but most likely based on the connection description, the GPS may have finally died. The type of GPS consistent with the C70 is no longer made, and to get GPS with the newer technology might end up costing more than simply relacing the C70 with a new MFD. Many of the current MFDs have built in GPS and depth capability. So you could replace the C70 with a new unit and transducer and be way ahead of the game.

So reading online it appears there may be a C2032 battery in the antenna that lasts roughly ten years.

Thanks I'm hoping to check that out tomorrow.

Do you know which antenna you have? I think I have the Raystar RS120.
