This seems sort of goofy but I need to ask. I've always used a general grease on my outboards over the last 20 years. Now reading the manual for my new boat, I need different greases, gimbal grease, coupler grease, one for the shaft, one for the anchor, etc, etc. I'll have 6 different grease guns hanging in my garage.
Is it really that important??
Why wouldn't a good wheel bearing/all purpose grease work for all??
I understand when I person invests in an expensive toy, that a $10 tube of grease is a no brainer, but why so many kinds??
Someone please educate me.
