Guys do you mind taking a look at this and letting me know your thoughts. I walked out into the garage this morning and there was this green/blue blob on the concrete. Any suggestions on what it is and should I have it checked out now prior to waiting for the season to start.

History - Had boat completely serviced prior to putting her away for the winter. Did not have the boat winterized because I leave her in heated garage. Has not been an extremely cold winter here to begin with so do not think that is the problem in fact we have had some pretty warm days lately so could it also be caused by heat.

Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Not sure how it got locked....:smt021 Let's try it again...help.

LMAO! I saw that.

I figured you must be going to edit something and did not want any replies until you were done.

That or you offended yourself and wanted to lock the thread down.

PS: Does the color match your Hydraulic fluid or your drive oil fluid? There are so many freaking types of fluid these days, some synthetic.

Blue/green sounds like outdrive fluid. Maybe the drain screw is loose or has a bad gasket.

Is there a "trail" left behind on your outdrive? can you follow it to it's potential source.

You probably already thought of that, sorry.

Definitely looks like drive lube - with that small of an amount I wouldn't worry about it too much. Check your reservoir and make sure it's full and then keep checking the level. Has the boat been run at all since being serviced?

Drive oil? Did you pull the drive and grease the u-joints and spline?
The seals (o rings) may not be seated correctly. This would let water into the case..no good. I think you can pressure test it.
Lets wait for the pros to chime in.

That definately looks like Drive Fluid. Maybe a fill bolt? NOt real sure on te ALphas though. As suggested above see if you can follow the "trail"

Boat has not been ran since serviced. They did pull drive and do full service, check alignment, change impellar, etc.

If you look at the second picture you will see the silver anode (sp?) toward the boat side of the drive, directly below that is a black plate that that silver anode is resting on. Under that black plate is what appears to be 4 drops of the drive lube.

In addition to the plugs potentially leaking, it's possible that it has something to do with the oil line from the outdrive reservoir in the engine compartment. Check the fluid level in the reservoir to see if it dropped. Whatever it is, it's likely you may have to take it back over to LWM unless its leaking from one of the plugs (which can be tightened with a screwdriver).

If you can't figure it out call LWM and ask Blair (service manager) if you can talk to Allen. He can probably tell you what it might be.

They forgot to re-connect the line from the outdrive reservoir to the outdrive. Trim up all they way and you should see it.

I know both of mine do - of course I've got drives which are 10 years older....

didn't have all that fancy stuff on my last alpha....of course that was back in 1983....

Just paint the floor green.

That sounds like something Gary would say! I'm starting to wonder if you two are the same person!

is is possible that the liquid that is on the floor was trapped in a crevice when the drive was up and when you got home and lowered the drive for winter storage it was able to drain to the floor?
