HOPE ALL FELLOW MEMBERS ARE BUCKLED DOWN AND SAFE!

I guess you have to just hope for the best if you leave the boat in the slip.

Likewise.....

Hope everything passes quickly.....

That's the tough thing about this storm, not passing quickly.

Have not seen an update in the last few hours, but last I saw was projected to make landfall then sit in the same area 4-5 days.

Very similar to a storm in the early 2000's, I think it was Allision, dumped 35 inches of rain on the Houston area.

Best wishes to all in South Texas,

Mark

Here is an update.

My boat is docked in Seabrook, TX if you want to look at a map.

Overall the tide+surge came up about 6ft. We lost power at the marina 2 times.

I stayed at the boat last night until about 10PM. A few "dock rats" showed up and we secured multiple boats near ours and few on a pier across from us we had concerns with. (It still amazes me how many people either have no idea or don't care)

Winds were up to about 40MPH and water was very choppy. Once the power went out I started my generator and decided to grab a bite to eat (6pm) I saw the centerpoint energy trucks and they guys told me it should be back on in about an hour. about 8:30 the power came back on and I decided to go back to shore power but I did go ahead and clean out the refrigerator in case we lost power again.

After the dock was secure, I hung around for a while and then at 10pm I figured I would head home. It rained all night and my dock neighbors sent some pictures this morning and said we lost power sometime throughout the night. At about 1PM today the power was back on and the water is receeding.

The issue around here is the flooding, most of the waterways are well over the banks, and we still have 4 more days of this weather.

I will get some pictures up, but I am struggling with this new site. On the old site I could just click upload but now everything is too big

Josh, it looks like youre doing well so far. There are a few boats there that may be hitting the roofs if it gets much higher. We're probably going to get water in the house later today. Our retention pond came up 10-12 feet last night and we have 3-4 feet left before it starts becoming a problem.
Take care and be safe

South Shore Harbour Marina has about 3 feet of water in the parking lot, the floating piers are doing their job and not seeing much if any boat damage so far.

I just heard the Red Cross say this is the worst flooding anyone alive has seen in Texas and that "Harvey has turned central and southeast Texas into a lake the size of Lake Michigan" (his exact words). He said it won't recede until after Labor Day. He said the best help we can all provide is donations.
