While winterizing my boat this year I dumped the fuel water separator and I have quite a bit of water in it. I am not sure where the water came from. I do always use Startron at every fill up. I am going to look at the vent and fuel fill to see if there is any issues. Perhaps a bad batch of gas at the dock. Before draining the water out of the tank someone had mentioned to use K100 in the fuel. I have read up on it and it supposedly will treat the water so it will burn, basically eliminating the water. I was also told to put Seafoam in the gas and burn the gas out. I was just wondering if anyone has used the K100. I have heard of Seafoam and it is supposed to be a great product but today was the first time I have heard of K100.

I have no opinion on K100 but Startron seams to be the most popular additive and gets good reviews. Take a close look at the fuel fill cap. They usually have an o-ring or gasket the can go bad or get lost. It is the most common outside source of water getting in fuel. I would also recommend installing a Racor fuel filter if it will fit. Much higher capacity and better filtering.

Used it for several years on my old boat with no issues. Been using Startron for several years on my 320 with no issues either. Not sure it really matters.

I have been using Startron for four years now and never had a problem. I am going to check for the O ring. I have no room for the Racor. Even now I have to get the short fuel water separator as there is no room. Thank you for your reply
