Now that Ive got your attention.............Those of us with V berths,do you sleep w/your head towards the bow or towards the stern ?? I sleep w/feet to bow seems more roomy to my wife and myself...am curious if I am the only nut who does this .

I know every time I tried to sleep feet first to the bow it just didn't seem natural.
The other way is better as far as I can see, we used to actually sleep "straight" on my prior 270 and I took the port side and put my legs up on the dinette backrest or on the side of it.

We sleep with our heads to the bow. On this boat we haven't tried it the other way but on the 230OV if we slept with our feet to the bow, it felt like you were sleeping upside down

We sleep with feet to bow. We have a Travasak sleeping bag made for a V berth which opens to the stern thereby forcing the feet to the bow. It's more comforatble that way anyway.

Although it makes more sense from a space perspective, when I lie on the v-berth with my head to the stern it feel like my head is lower than my feet. That's not comfortable to me, so we sleep with our heads to the bow.

I hear you. I guess I've become acclimated to the head to stern so I don't notice my head being lower than my feet. In our case it's subtle and we like the extra shoulder room.

head to bow....like Jeff said, I feel like my feet are higher than my head the other way.

in our lod Sea Ray S24 Sorrento we slept feet to the bow. with the boat that small your weight forward puts the bow low.

In the 340, we sleep head to the bow. Our weight isn't going to counter act those 2 big 7.4s in the other end. The original brochure actually shows the sleeping arrangements as across the beam.

I think that everyone should do what's more comfortable but not forgetting the safety factor. There's a level difference, so you'll have to adjust your mattress to make it leveled if you choose head to stern. I don't think it's healthy to sleep for many hours with head being lower than your feet or the rest of the body, but I don't know 100%.

On our 240Da we had it very differently (head to port feet to starboard). We're not big people and this worked fine. I slept on the wider part and admiral closer to the bow. When our little guy was still very little (infant to 1-2 yrs) he was comfortable in what was left closer to the bow (next to admiral). We used the v-berth for 3 of us if we had guests on board over night. Other times, as for everyone, kids shared the aft cabin.

Alex.

Head to the bow. I'm 6'5" and prefer to let the feet hang off the end.

If the Admiral wasn't with me and I slept in the middle, then I could sleep head to stern, but like others have said I wouldn't like sleeping uphill.

In the 250 DA we slept with our feet to the bow. On the 300 DA, we sleep with our head to the bow. We usually sleep in the aft cabin or I get the dinette on the 300 DA.

Strange timing on this post as I was just thinking about this while on the boat this past weekend. I was trying to convince the Mrs I have more room if I sleep feet to the bow. Only issue then is the Mrs would have to sme-ll my feet, not a good thing. And, watching the TV in bed would be awkward.

head to bow as the bow is definately higher. need more weight in the bow/Anchor locker to balance the boat out.
