Help please,

I am replacing all the exhust hoses on both engines. I also need to replace this part. I call it a "reducer." It has an inlet of 4 inches and an outlet of 3 inches.

What is it called?

Where can I obtain this part?

Also, when replacing the exhust hoses, I am trying to decide between wired and non-wired. When I read the description the "wired" hoses are used for long runs or deep bends. I don't have either one, so I am thinking non-wired.

That is 4 x 3 concentric reducer. You can do it in cast iron and get it at a plumbing supply house. ask to look at their weld neck fittings and see if that works for you. If that's too heavy take a look at the same thing in cast iron soil pipe. Hope that works for you.

Thanks.

Just after I posted I found it in my Merc book, in the back, on the bottom corner. They call it a reducer too.

I inspected one and it was getting thin and pitted. It appears to be made out of cast too.

Plumbing supply store huh? Bet it is 1/3 the cost of going to my SR dealer.......

Well I called my trusty SR dealer last week and he quoted me a price of $166 for a kit. It came with 2 reducers and 2 boots.

I had already ordered the boots from WM.

Went to my local plumbing supply store and picked up 4 concentric reducers at $15 each!

Thanks Sprink56!
