Help! Melted IAC valve in Mercruiser 8.1 engine

I've heard the same, some apps need the oem, some not

No difference what so ever. Except triple the price. Painted it black and is the same. What was the reason he told you that? I’m curious.

I don't know, I fired him bought the GM auto ones and installed them myself.
