Help needed finding a part or it's name

I'm hunting a part or at least it's proper name. I want to replace my throttle grips, or figure out a way to re color them the red they used to be. All I've found are the complete assembly. All I need are the grips. Can anyone help me out and point me in the correct direction?
 
Are you talking about the 'Red Balls' or something else?

They're not red balls more like a shortened "T" with the long side of each T pointed inward towards the other.

I'm not sure if yours is the same, but mine look like this
I have yet to find just the handles for them, I could have sworn I saw replacements previously.
If you do find some, post where you got them and part numbers please.
 
I am going to mask off around mine and use the red and black spray for plastic. I did a 95 Yamaha Waveraider a few years ago and it looked brand new.

My first attempt it peeled right away when I did the ski. I used the stuff found in Depot and local auto parts stores, it's crap!

I cleaned and sanded everything again, cleaned really good with alcohol and used the spray sold by Eastwood, can't remember the name of it. 3 years of sitting in the sun all summer and it still looks fantastic. Bought the ski for $500 and sold it for $1500. I still see it on the river and it looks great.

I was told that the handles are obsolete by Teleflex.

I might try to find someone who ca turn me out a set in stainless steel
 
stainless will get hot in the sun,try aluminum or acrylic..
 
In the spring I took the screw out of the handles and couldn't get the two halves apart, I was afraid of breaking them. Any have success getting them off?
