Hello all. I have a 2001 Sea Ray DA with twin 4.3 EFI Alpha 1 Gen 2 drives. Issue started about a month ago after about running the boat for a half hour or so around 3800 rpm I started to overheat and shut down the starboard motor right away. Eel grass was kind of heavy that day so i restarted, put it in reverse and kept going and it happened again 20 mins later. Did the same thing and was fine. About a week later it happened again. Same thing. There were several short trips inbetween where the boat ran fine. Also in this time frame I brushed the bottom and cleaned the drives thinking maybe I had had some growth but there was nothing visible. This past weekend again, a longer trip and it was overheating again. Just to note water pumps were replaced at the start of last season. Water pressure is fine as I pulled the inlet off at the thermostat. Also the thermostat and sender were replaced after the first overheat issue. Risers and manifolds were replaced start of last season as well. I was able to run a diagnostic test on the motor and everything came up fine (timing, spark codes etc). Boat ran great up to a month ago. Again, boat runs perfect at idle. Its only after extended time running at a higher RPM does my issue happen. Any thoughts on what else to look for? Appreciate any thoughts and comments.
