Hi guys and gals
I have a 97 330 and the house batteries keep going dead. I cannot find information on how they are charged. When they go dead then the gen won’t start. Please help

House - How old, what type and how many?

Engine- same question

Inverter brand and model number?

Then we can help determine the issue.

The house batteries should be charged with the built-in, on-board battery charger. The charger should come on automatically when you are on shore power or the genny is running....assuming you can start it. Some chargers run through the battery switch. Do you leave the battery selector switch to "ALL" when you leave the boat? Is it possible your engine batteries are staying charged by the engine alternators but if are you shutting off the battery selector switch when you leave the boat the house batteries may not be getting a charge. The same situation could occur if the on board charger is not working , has tripped the breaker of has been inadvertently been shut off..

Might be time to get into your ER with a volt meter, with shore power on and start taking voltage readings to determine what's going on. Lastly, how old are the batteries? Have you checked the water levels? Are the terminals and clean and corrosion free. Could be time to replace them. I hope this info helps. Let us know what you find.

The charger is called "AC Converter" on the power panel and needs to be on. Also check the in line fuses that are in the leads from the charger to the batteries. They are 30 amp fuses on the OEM set up and if the charger is upgraded, to higher amps, the fuses can blow.
