Hi,

I was wondering for all of us in the colder climates how often do you get together or see your group of dockmates or boating friends. I have talked with people about this before and you always get a wide variety of responses. For me personally I would say our group gets together about 2 or 3 times over the winter for either parties or going out as a group(dinner, casino, or the bars). We also have a cruise planned for Feburary just before the breaking point of insanity. Just curious if other people kept in contact and how often during the winter months.

Not so far. See everyone in the spring!

Never, But we talk on the phone and emails. :smt024

We get together 3-4 times in the off season, some more than others.

Our dock is pretty deserted in the off season. My friend that was next to me just moved to another marina. He was there most every weekend during the off season. Another friend (and my new neighbor) is there most weekends till it gets really cold.

We just put the campers up last weekend. About 3 weeks later than last year!

I am sure we'll get together for a beer every week or so like last winter.

2 or 3 times, but it's 1 or 2 couples for dinner one time, another couple for a hockey game another time, three or four couples going to florida for a long weekend, type of thing.
Although last year we did get the better part of the dock together in Cleveland for the boat show...The boat show was just ok, but we had a great time being there.

Bill, This gmail phone is great !!. It didn't cost me anything to call you.

We have two groups of boating friends. Living on a lake in a small town, we see local boating friends year round. Then another group that we see a few times a year in late June to early August when cruising the Great Lakes.

Starting in Dec. We each take a turn once a month at each another's house for Dinner and cock-tails till April when it is time to splash!!

About once or twice a week. Everybody spends a lot of time on their boats doing little stuff and just hanging out. Its nice because every time one of us goes down to the marina we always check each others boats.

Winter gets busy with work and kids activities and chores/projects around the house that get put off til the off season. We have a core group of friends with which we spend every weekend for half of the year. We're in constant contact with these folks. For the wider group, we probably get together four or five times over the winter at parties and the Toronto International Boat Show.

I still boating... but looks like the end is near... Got to sharpen the snow skis... Hope to see some of my buds on th slopes this year. Great thing about boating is it make all my other hopes seem like they are in expensive, including skiing... We ski at Camelback, Pa every week end if any you boating fanatics are up that way... Plan on a trip to VT and this winter too...

Not very often... maybe a couple - few times between November and May. I'm out putting around once or twice a month and use my boat to get to work another couple times. but most people around here don't do much boating in the winter.
