I would like to install a kicker on my 78 srv hardtop, but it has a swim plateform. Is there a way to install a kicker without modifng the plateform? has anyone come accross this and how did you install it? Pics would also help. Thanks in advance

I’ve seen setups like in the below photo with the moving portion of the bracket long enough so the outboard swings out just past the swim platform when in use and up / out of the water when not in use.

OK...let's say you put a kicker off the end of your platform. That seems simple enough. But, how are you going to drive the boat....stand on the platform....put a big extender on the controls and sit in cockpit....?

Dom, have you never heard of "EZ Steer"

With the E.Z. Steer System, you can safely and easily steer your auxiliary outboard engine from your boat's main wheel... even if one is raised or tilted. It lets you pilot your "kicker" with an unrestricted view of what's ahead. You'll no longer have to hang over the transom to steer your auxiliary through stormy weather, and you won't be in the way of the fishing action, either!

Designed for auxiliary engines up to 25 horsepower, we have a kit to fit every outboard and outdrive engine, even if you have a swim platform.

For safety and convenience, EZ Steer really works!

It looks like crap, but I see them all the time. I can't imagine fighting the power steering but hey, that Steer can't be wrong.

Seriously though, I know there are some other hydraulic remote steering systems, but they are not inexpensive.

A piece of flexible pvc pipe can fit right over the throttle control - make it any length you need.
