So, I do have another thread open, that leads me to opening this thread. I have a 2006 Sea Ray Sundancer 240 W/ MerCruiser 5.0, of which I am having a starting issue.I have done some trouble shooting and so far I have replaced my batteries W/ 2 new Optima Blue Tops, changed my SLAVE Solenoid and my 50 MAP Breaker next to my SLAVE solenoid, yet still, just a click when I turn the ignition key. The only things left, that I can think of, are the 90 Circuit Breaker / fuse on the starter, the STARTER Solenoid or the Starter itself. I have ordered all three and they will arrive tomorrow. My question is specific to my year, make / model and engine; how difficult is it to change out the starter on this exact boat?

Any help, you tube link, advise, would be much appreciated.

No Sir, which would indicate that the Slave Solenoid may not have been bad. I chose t change it based on 3 things;
1 - I have seen stupider things with electrical components.
2 - The assumed age of these two components.
3 - The relative ease in replacing them.

The starter is fairly easy to change. Two bolts hold it on. The first thing I would check before replacing the starter is the connections on the starter especially the main (big wire) connection.

Yup , starter is easy to change if the boat wasn't in your way.

Thanks Stroh, I will ck it out when I get back in town this weekend.

UPDATE - Had a local Marine Mechanic come and change out the Starter, Starter Solenoid and the 90 amp fuse and all is now once again, good in my world!
The best $218.00 I have ever spent, I think....there was that one time in Thailand, lol.
