Anyone out there have experience cleaning/fixing their float switch? I can't even get my head/hands close enough to try and 'feel' how to disassemble it. I did notice that the lounger support fiber glass comes off with a few bolts and some cutting of the caulk. Maybe I need to remove that panel of glass and try and get closer.

Just wondering if anyone has ever done this on they 220 SD.

I could not get to my 240 Sundeck float switch even after removing cowl.

Some how mechanic replaced pump and switch?

I can't offer any guidance on getting to it without seeing firsthand, Tim. BUT... what about spraying it hard with a hose? Maybe it'd loosen up whatever is causing the problem? You could douse it with degreaser and let it set for about 10 minutes, first. If you wanted to soak the area really well you could put your plug in, crank the bow up and fill the bilge with water. Let it set that way for a good day (with degreaser, boat soap, whatever, mixed in with the water).

I sprayed it pretty good Dennis. I will try decrease and see what happens

Any luck ? Oh, and by the way, as long as you're down there, any idea on exactly how to change out the raw water impeller without cutting a large hole in the side of the hull ?:)

I messed with it a bit. I will try again tonight or this weekend.

I have the same issue with the impeller. I have the part, but can't figure out how to get my fat head down there to change it out. What a PITA!

Can you post a picture of your engine compartment? I once had to remove the side panels on each side of the engine to be able to get down underneath it. This was on a 205 sport. Im not sure if your boat is setup the same. Even at that it can be very tight.

i know it was posted some time ago, but yes, you need to remove fiberglass panel in order to gain access to switch and pump. CHECK FUSE FIRST! maybe float switch its not the problem.

I can get the float switch to turn on and off by pressing on the side of it, so the fuse is OK. An interesting thing that I did notice is that I can no longer cycle the bildge pump manually via the switch at the helm. Not sure what's going on here. When the float switch cycles, the light in the bildge pump switch does come on. Maybe the actual manual switch is bad.
