Ten Years Gone

Hello Gentlemen,
I've been lurking for a while and finally decided a first post was in order. I've enjoyed this site tremendously! I hope that all of you experienced a happy and loving Christmas!
It's just 18 weeks until splashdown, and my biggest baby is keeping me busy. She is an '86 250DA with every factory option except AC/heat and pulpit/windlass. The previous owners were neglectful and irresponsible, and I saved her from a certain landfill burial. The Admiral and I are considering Lake Monroe as our port-of-call for the 2012 season. (largest reservoir in Indiana) We have enjoyed many years of lake-hopping adventure with our 18' Seville, but are looking forward to the convenience of already being on the water when the mood to cruise strikes. The hours of preparation, triple checking and anal retentive ways required for launching the bowrider, would wear the wife and kids out before we even left the driveway. So this newest addition to our Sea Ray family is our valiant attempt at less stress and greater relaxation.
Just ask my wife! :smt021
Here is a short list of items that "Ruby" is receiving in good faith, that she will float and transport us safely.
1. Rebuilt Vortec 350 with new exhaust manifolds.
2. New Alpha 1 outdrive, props, gimbal bearing and boots.
3. Cockpit vinyl reconditioned/replaced as needed.
4. All the teak removed, sanded, oiled and sealed.
5. Cabin upholstery refitted with vinyl (more kid friendly)
6. Gel-coat above waterline buffed/waxed. Bottom blasted and repainted.
7. New auto bilge pumps, batteries, extinguishers and CO/smoke alarms.
8. New 30 gallon freshwater holding tank and pump.
9. New CD player w/6 new speakers and 20" flat-screen TV/DVD combo.
I hope this list is completed in time for an early Spring launch. Anyone who boats in IN knows what happened last year (2011) that delayed the beginning of the season!
(After all, I do want the full 5 months of space I'm paying for!)
Looking forward to sharing my challenges and triumphs with you folks.
Cheers! :smt038
