Had my boat pulled out yesterday for an insurance survey and found several silver dollar size blisters on the hull. (about 6) The boat was in the water all winter but i had it pulled in September to clean the bottom and didn't notice any blisters at that time. Has anyone had a similar situation and if so how involved and costly was it to fix?

Not a big deal, wait until this winter and have Ricky Nordhoff fix them. He's Haven Harbor's glass guy but also works on his own. Let me know if you want his number.

Do i need to sand blast and barrier coat the whole hull or just the blisters? Yes, i would like the number. Thanks

He'll just grind them out and repair the local areas. Or if you plan on keeping the boat for a long time you could do soda blast and barrier depending on your bottom condition and amount of paint build-up. I'll text you his number.

If that's all that you're finding, there's no need to barrier coat the entire bottom. Assuming the bottom is anti-fouled, the repair is even easier/faster since you don't have to match/sand/buff the gelcoat. They'll be a pretty easy/quick repair for anyone that has some experience.

Thanks for the replies. I was hoping this was not going to be an expensive endeavor. Now i can enjoy my summer without thinking about expensive winter repairs.

Darn Michael - that's not really boating - LOL!!!

Remember Gary's (FOUR SUN's) famous words - "If it ain't broke...you're not boating"!!
Your right! I miss spoke, but i'm sure there will be many other unexpected cost to make my summer exciting. Heck, fuel costs alone should make it a fun summer.
