Hull damage end of season

I would have slowed down and f**k the following boat. He hits you, it's his dime, not yours.
Now it's yours. Just sayin'.
 
Don’t second guess what you did!! You did what you needed to do to avoid a collision!! As the captain of your vessel, you did exactly what you were supposed to do - you kept your passengers safe! Boats can be repaired or replaced. Human life is final!

I'm pretty sure my wife how was sitting in the back screaming that a boat climbing up our rearend would beg to differ with you.

full beer cans work wonders, bottles too, have heard that bb's flipped over head against their windshields works good too, have not tried that. For those might say "that's ignorant", dont ride my ass and your wont encounter ignorant.

I'm thinking there is more wrong than what you think. May want to check the boat really good or have a pro look at it before spending the money to fix a problem that may be caused by something else.
 
This is our first year on east side of marblehead. I can tell you I have had more close calls and defensive heading changes this year then I have had in 6 years on Erie. I won’t even get into how many times I had the right of way…. Okay every single time….. it just doesn’t matter any more

Where i boat, Middle River covers a 12 square mile area, lots of waterfront homes and feeder rivers/creeks. Laws are useless, enforcement is non existent. Baltimore County had a whole division of marine police, eliminated them all. We now have 1 cop on a zodiac who putts around. Wake damage, no recourse, suck it up. Its really the wild west here. Rant over.
Actually, rant aint over. I got criticized on here upthread for doing what i needed to protect my boat and people onboard. You wanna call a cop where you are, good for you. We cant. Good thing we aint like Texas cause a 12 gauge would solve any problem with a boat up my ass.
Fortunately the wife uses ice cubes and ham sandwiches. But be ignorant? Hell ya. Who gonna charge me? That retired Barney Fife on the zodiac who don’t enforce the laws around here? Dont get me started.

OK so no marine patrol, so the victim that you assault takes a couple of pics one of them being your reg. number, then he files his charges when he gets on land.. He's got a boatload of people with identical story, yup, you will be charged. You can't be that stupid, I get the internet tough guy talk.. amusing... carry on.
 
Never mind. Glad you have good police coverage where you are. Point is the original poster has no recourse against the boat that caused him $13k of damage. What would you do in that situation? Call a cop?
 
Not too bad here other than the idiots disregarding the no wake zone. Our river dumps into the Ohio and there are about 10 marinas on our river. The whole river is no wake but it's only about 2 miles from the Ohio to the dam that has no lock so you can't go any further. This year has been the worst for it. They seem oblivious. There might be 5, 6, 7 people standing on the dock yelling for them to slow down and they look at you like they have no clue what you are saying. The other is all the pontoons we see with kids sitting on the front with their feet hanging in the water. There is another pontoon that looks like they just fixed it enough to float and they have 4 poles with speakers mounted on top of them. They have about 10-12 people on it dancing and so much weight that the toons are completely under water, music blasting and girls dancing. No problems there yet but just wonder how long before the overloading gets them

This is the right answer. Do not beat yourself up one second, you have already done exactly what you were supposed to do.

Pirate Lady hats off to you railroading a post about a mishap. Your input to this post are useless in the real world. We all get it your some Billy bad ass that no one should F. with. All I do know is any of the actions you have mentioned would not have changed anything in the instance it happen. Everyone else how is in touch with reality thank you for you thoughts.
