Recently changed out the filters during a fluid change. The cap on the older Hurth seems to be held in by just the O-Ring compression. Is this normal or am I missing something? I have an older Hurth 630 on the starboard and a new 630 on the port, the new Trans I like as it used a screw capture to hold the cap in. The concern I have is the cap blowing off the starboard Trans during running. Any Comments??

The hurth 800 that I have in my boat have a cap with a bolt in the middle that when tightened squeezes out the oring making it compress against the wall. I believe you have this same arrangement on the older trans? The filters are on the suction side of the pump so there should not be pressure in there that would blow out the cap.
