Well, someone was bound to do this. Looks like an erector set project. Appears that they did the manufacturing in China. If ugly, slow, probably buggy, but with very low fuel consumption turn you on, then here's your boat.

There's an article in Power & Motor Yacht about hybrid boats this month. I have yet to read it but wow,.. I'll keep my gasser and just smile:grin: Thank you

I'm surprised they didn't put a sail on it too.

Do you think it has enough batteries so I can install an inverter to run a hair dryer, microwave and 32" Plasma?

I read the Power and Motoryacht article on the one hybrid. It was a worthless article. The boat still has regular engines.

I think the boat that Frank put up is pointless as well. Appears to be a cat so the boat can glide at displacement hull speeds.

I think this hybrid stuff is pointless and if you want to stop paying high fuel bills on boating, go displacement hull speeds (with a boat designed for it) and/or get a boat with sails. Geez... sailboats aren't that bad... (can't believe I said that).

Who it world would want all that solar panel crap on the top... wonder how that'll hold up with salt water and taking a wave over the bow. Ahhh... they are probably held on with self-tapping screws into the fiberglass so they'll "breakaway" easily.

I don't think I would ever get my wife on a big sailboat but I looked at couple 50+ foot sailboats last week. Very nice....

Check out the new Cats - They know how to cruise in style and comfort, but not like we do.

Imagine all the leaks you would be chasing with all those self taping screws.

Two positive mentions by Gary about blowboats? Is there soemthing you need to tell us? Did you buy something?

Doesn't Al Gore have one of those on a lake in Tennessee?

Gore's boat, Bio-Solar One (aka BS-1), is a gianormous aluminum barge hull houseboat with a pair of diesel outdrives. He claims to run them on bio-diesel, but Hurricane Marina (where he's docked) doesn't sell it, so he has to get it trucked in. He was to have solar panels installed on the canopy frame to help charge batteries for house power. He's got a couple of gas-burning jet skis on it as well.

Hybrid Boat! The Seagulls in our up hear in the great lakes call that a " Nice Target"!
What happened to a thing called Industrial design? Brooks Stevens would be rolling over in his grave if he saw that.
